Pre-2013 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/ Pre-2013 And While We Sleep 29"W x 35"L $800 2012 This quotation is from the ancient Greek playwright Aeschylus. Robert Kennedy recited it from memory while speaking to a group of African-Americans on the night in 1968 that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was killed. Kennedy himself would be killed about 2 months later. This quotation becomes more meaningful with every passing day. http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176419716 176419716 Bird/Dog 12"W x 10"L $150 2012 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176419489 176419489 Colour Bars 1 12"W x 32"L $300 2012 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176478693 176478693 Double Dog 12.5"W x 12"L $150 2012 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176419490 176419490 Gateway 25"W x 21.5"L $400 2012 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176419659 176419659 Right or Happy AKA "Would You Rather be Right, or Would You Rather be Happy?" 23.5"W x 20"L $600 2012 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176570126 176570126 Warm Roses 2012 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=188780318 188780318 Cool Roses 2012 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=188780316 188780316 Neutral Roses 2012 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=188780317 188780317 Bird Grid 1 17.5"W x 19.5"L $350 2011 This piece is part of an ongoing series, using a split-piecing technique developed by artist Kathy Loomis, to explore the juxtaposition of figure and ground. http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176477907 176477907 Bird Grid 2 17.5"W x 15.5"L $350 2011 This piece is part of an ongoing series, using a split-piecing technique developed by artist Kathy Loomis, to explore the juxtaposition of figure and ground. http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176477906 176477906 Bird Grid 3 20"W x 16.5"L $350 2011 This piece is part of an ongoing series, using a split-piecing technique developed by artist Kathy Loomis, to explore the juxtaposition of figure and ground. http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176477909 176477909 Bird Grid 4 13"W x 18"L $300 2011 This piece is part of an ongoing series, using a split-piecing technique developed by artist Kathy Loomis, to explore the juxtaposition of figure and ground. http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176568908 176568908 Flower Grid 16"W x 28"L $400 2011 http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176568933 176568933 Mile Marker 368.4 12"W x 12"L NFS 2011 In December 2010, I had a close encounter with reality. My husband and I were moving my 19 year-old son to Colorado to live with his Dad and go to college. We were pushing to get to our first night?s stop when I saw the headlights behind me turn sideways to the road, and then disappear in a cloud of dust. Jim had fallen asleep at the wheel, awakened, over-corrected, and rolled his Dad?s SUV several times. Thanks to his seatbelt and his guardian angel, Jim walked away from the wreck with cuts and bruises. God bless the Good Samaritan family, the EMTs, and the ER staff who helped us. http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176478014 176478014 Remember 24"W x 26"L x 4"D $250 2011 Remember that thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return. http://lindalaird-studio.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=176567562 176567562 Shall We Gather AKA "Shall We Gather at the River?" 18"W x 45"L $1000 2011 Death does not sever family ties. I especially love the names of the old heirloom varieties: last year I tried out "Green Zebra" and "Cherokee Purple"; this year I've got "Mortgage Lifter" and "Royal Hillbilly". Next summer I'm planning to try "Banana Legs", "Paul Robeson", and maybe "Jersey Devil".
